Part- or full-time experienced equine vet position with partnership opportunities
Our independent ambulatory practice has been built with the horse owner, and staff in mind. We are now 6 years old, and can’t believe where the time has gone.
We know that not only does our next team player deserve a decent salary (40-60k), but they will be allowed flexibility in their role, both clinically and the hours that they work.
We would like you to share a 1/4 rota, we start at 0830 and finish at 1700 hours. We are looking for our next vet to work between 3 and 5 days per week, with a start date to suit both parties.
The office is open 0830-5pm so calls will usually be fitted around this, but if you prefer to stagger start and finish times – then this is fine by us. You would be joining Anna, Camilla and Gayle in a 1/4 rota. Directors cover on call when you are on your holidays.
We also know that you need to feel valued, and motivated. This might mean you wish to pursue a certificate or attend stay away conferences or CPD – we will support you in your growth as an equine vet. There is scope to offer additional services for our
clients – just let us know your interests and we will do our best to accommodate them. Likewise, satisfaction from doing the routine stuff well and going home on time is also encouraged.
Working team – it is so important to us that you love where you work, and the team that you work with. We are a close knit, small team so it’s important that we all get along. Three-monthly individual feedback sessions where we can discuss your hopes and dreams for your career, are carried out in a local farm shop café. The team meet regularly to brainstorm – everyone has a valid opinion and we are open to different ways of running the practice.
About you:
- A passion for horses – we want you to love our clients’ horses almost as much as they do!
- Experienced equine vet
- You might have done an internship or making the leap from mixed practice. Your love for doing things right, as you would for your own horse, is the most important criteria. Our own in-house expert in internal medicine can help with further development
- Willingness to learn how to use our fabulous bank of diagnostic imaging equipment
- A gastric scope, respiratory scope, DR X-ray, a plethora of ultrasound scanners, and ECG machine are all available at your disposal. Your own dental kit with electric rasp comes as standard. Vets who wish to develop a lameness caseload will be encouraged and supported by our visiting orthopaedic expert.
- Love your time off in Perthshire
Perthshire is a wonderful place to live. A rural location but with amenities of a much larger city. Whether you love the theatre, the hills, skiing, squash or Ceilidh dancing – Perth has it all.
